Scrumptious And Easy To Cook, Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken

Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken consists of chicken, pineapple, in a sweet and tangy sauce. The sauce is a mixture of teryaki sauce, garlic, and soy sauce. Oh, and pineapples with the pineapple juice, of course. Sweet, yet tangy!

I love to make this dinner because it’s a break from the norm and guess what? It’s super easy! Yep, that’s right. Shocker, I know. I’m all about easy recipes, especially for dinner!

I’ve found so many great recipes that are easy to make and take minimal time to cook so why slave over the stove and make things harder on myself, if I don’t have to? I really can’t understand wanting to spend more time on dinner. With 5 little kids running around and needing something at all times, I really don’t have extra time. Even during the quarantine of Covid-19, I found myself busy as always! There was home schooling, working from home, cleaning up constant messes, keeping up with the kids and their never ending needs, and of course, cooking for everyone.

Hawaiian Chicken Ingredients

Hawaiian Chicken has lots of flavor and yet, it only have a few ingredients. You will need the following items to make this delicious dinner:

  • 3 lbs Chicken boneless
  • 1.5 cups Teryaki Sauce
  • 3 tbsp Garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 20oz Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 4 Green Onions chopped

The ingredients are pretty minimal as you can see. You probably have most of them in your home already which is awesome for choosing this dinner at the last minute. The green onions might not be a staple in your house and that’s completely fine, you can skip those and add them to your shopping list the next time you want to make this yummy meal!

Making The Hawaiian Chicken

I love that this easy dinner is made in the crock pot. Cooking is super easy with crock pot meals! However, sometimes you have recipes for crock pot meals that require you to cook meat or sauces on the stove BEFORE putting them in the crock pot. To me, it defeats the purpose of a crock pot so I steer clear of those recipes! This Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken cooks in the crock pot the entire time. Basically, just dump and go! The crock pot will take care of the rest. See for yourself:

  • Place chicken in the crock pot.
  • Combine teryaki sauce, soy sauce, pineapple chunks (and juice), garlic, and chicken broth in a bowl and mix together.
  • Pour mixture over chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, until chicken is cooked through.
  • Make 3 cups of rice just before dinner.
  • Shred or cut up chicken in the crock pot.
  • Make some white rice in your microwave, on the stove, or in a rice cooker.
  • Add rice directly to the crock pot and mix well.
  • Garnish with green onions.
  • Serve immediately and ENJOY!

Hawaiian Chicken Dinner

The Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken will have almost everything you need in a complete dinner. It has chicken and fruit; the pineapple! If you drink some milk with your dinner, you would then have 3 of your 4 food groups. The only thing missing is breads and grains. To include this key food group, just make some rice shortly before serving dinner.

I like to microwave either white or brown rice by mixing rice and water in a bowl, covering with a paper towel, and cooking for approximately 12 to 15 minutes on a setting of 8 (out of 10). Once the rice is cooked, I stir it up so it isn’t super clumpy and then combine the rice with the chicken and pineapple mixture in the crock pot. The rice really soaks up the juice and makes this yummy dish a complete meal. All you need to do now is shut off the crock pot and serve!

Easy Family Dinner Recipe

I chose a lot of easy meals during our quarantine nights. And this Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken is one of the yummy, easy dinners that we had. I also chose a lot of yummy martinis to make at night too. Ssh, don’t tell anyone. Actually, it’s fine to tell someone. Hell, you can share the recipes with your friends. The fun martinis really should be known! For example, try making this Shamrock Martini. It’s vodka, chocolate liqueur, irish cream, and peppermint schnapps. Sound delicious? It is!

Okay, so back to the Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken…it’s deliciously sweet, but not overly sweetened. The garlic and soy really provides a tasty balance for this family favorite dinner. Kids love this dinner. Who doesn’t love pineapple, right? Although it isn’t a Chinese dish, it’s very similar in style since you can serve it with rice, making it an Asian inspired dish. You could pair it with Crab Rangoon, if you wanted to make your dinner more Asian-like. Or you could just check out the recipe and pin it for later.

Give this recipe a try, I’m positive you will add it to your dinner rotation.

Italian Skillet Chicken

Italian Skillet Chicken. What exactly is that? The name doesn’t really sound interesting, but I can assure you that you will love this easy to make chicken dinner. This dish is technically a skillet dinner. I don’t know about you, but when I hear the phrase, skillet dinner, I’m thinking it’s a decent meal, but probably boring, worth making, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, this chicken skillet is something you could eat at a nice restaurant. It is not boring, there is so much flavor, it will surprise you.

Easy to Make

Now you are probably thinking, if this is meal is restaurant quality, will I be able to make this? And will it taste the same when I make it? Yes! Even a novice cook can make this dinner and look like a professional chef. This chicken dinner is easy to make and can be ready in less than 30 minutes. Oh, and remember it is a skillet dish? You know that means just 1 pan to clean up, right?

Delicious Dinner

Delicious dinners don’t have to be complicated. And easy dinners can be delicious! This Italian skillet chicken has a sauce that you will want to drown your rice or mashed potatoes in. The sauce consists of garlic (everything tastes better with garlic, am I right?), white wine, lemon juice, and chicken broth mainly. Then you add in some regular seasonings like black pepper and oregano. And don’t forget the yummy vegetables such as spinach, baby bella mushrooms, and tomatoes. Wait, are those a fruit? Regardless, the entire meal comes together quickly and has little prep. Just cut off the fat on the chicken and wash the veggies, then start cooking. Soon after you start, it will be ready to be served. You will be amazed at how good of a cook you really are.
