Easy To Make 5 Ingredient Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff

Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff is an easy way to make this classic American dinner. Ironically, it originated in Russia. It’s true! Different cuts of meat can be used for this dish and are sometimes diced, cubed, or cut into strips. Other variations include mushrooms and onions or other vegetables and varied seasonings.

Over the years, we have adapted this comfort dish one of our own using strips of beef filet with a mushroom, onion, and sour cream sauce, and served over egg noodles. My crock pot beef stroganoff recipe is one of the easiest recipes you can make. Not only is it an easy recipe to follow, it’s a delicious tasting dinner. And it only consists of 5 ingredients. Only 5!

Equipment

A crock pot can be your favorite method of cooking. This is the perfect recipe for a dump-and-go dinner and it will make your life so much easier! this is the kind of crock pot I use, but you can choose whatever you would like.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Stew Meat Or you can use any meat that is cut up
  • 2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 package Onion Soup (dry)
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 8 oz Sliced Mushrooms optional
  • 16 oz Egg Noodles

Did you notice that I said you only need 5 ingredients to make this recipe yet there are 6 ingredients listed? I knew I couldn’t slip anything by you! Well, technically the 6th ingredient is what you serve the beef stroganoff OVER, so it isn’t technically one of the beef stroganoff ingredients. Comprende? But if you think I’m being slimy and should include that as an actual ingredient because it is part of the crock pot beef stroganoff dinner, then you are correct and it can be considered a 6 ingredient meal. Nonetheless, there are still minimal ingredients in this dish, which is pretty freaking amazing, don’t you agree?

My recipes are all easy to make meals, snacks, desserts, etc. If I look at a recipe and it’s as along as a CVS receipt (those things can be a mile long!), I’m probably not going to be interested in making it. It would have to be a darn good recipe for me to attempt something so insanely long. This crock pot beef stroganoff is not long at all. In fact, it only consists of 5 ingredients.

Instructions

This crock pot beef strognanoff will make you look like amazing chef. Yet, you really don’t have to have any formal training in culinary arts. It’s a beautiful thing to find recipes like this!

  • Place meat, cream of mushroom soup, onion soup package, and mushrooms (if using) in the crockpot.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • About 10-15 minutes before eating, prepare egg noodles according to package directions.
  • Just before serving, add sour cream to crock pot and stir well.
  • Serve over egg noodles.

Easy Dinner Recipe

If you are a busy mom, dad, entrepreneur, or someone who just doesn’t want to spend too much timing cooking for whatever reason, this is a recipe you will want to pin for later. I mean, if you like beef, creamy sauces, and noodles, especially when they are combined to make a yummy dinner, then this recipe is a no-brainer. All you need to do is toss the beef, onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, and mushrooms in the crock pot in the morning. Later in the day, your dinner will be just about ready. The only thing left to do is prepare the egg noodles and mix in the sour cream into the beef mixture just before serving. Easy! I’m positive you will be handle to squeeze that into your crazy schedule and look like a hero! Everyone will love this warm and hearty meal.

Family Favorite Meal

As you can see, this an easy to make dinner for a regular family dinner. However, don’t let that fool you into thinking this isn’t good enough for you to serve on a special occasion like holidays or when you have dinner guests. This is absolutely a meal you can serve for those fun occasions! And you don’t have to tell anyone how incredibly easy it is to make. You can if you want to, but if you want to let them think you slaved over the meal, go ahead. I won’t tell!

Finally, another reason you will love this recipe is that cleanup will be a breeze. There won’t be an oily mess to clean off the stove or tons of ingredients that need to be put away. Just clean up the dinner plates, clean the crock pot, and the egg noodle pan. It’s super easy to cook and easy to clean up. What an added bonus!

Pot Roast – Healthy Crockpot Version

Pot roast is an easy and delicious dinner that can be prepared in less than 10 minutes and in just 1 pot. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t enjoy pot roast.  Everyone loves meat and potatoes – give them what they love for dinner! I always try to make extras (notice all the extra potatoes in there!).  It requires minimal ingredients, very little prep time, and LOTS of flavor. Not only is this pot roast recipe is not only a full meal, but it’s healthy.

One of the best things about this recipe is that you can tweak it to whatever your family enjoys the most.  For example, you can add celery, mushrooms, different potatoes – whatever you want, you choose and it will be even more delicious!  Generally, I love adding chopped onions to meals, but since this already has the onion soup mix, I figured it didn’t need more. However, if you want some extra flavor, chop a yellow onion and add it in there.

I always try to tweak recipes to make them healthier without losing flavor. This recipe has been tweaked from the traditional pot roast recipes. I opted for healthy request, fat free cream of mushroom soup to cut back on the fat and calories. Additionally, you won’t find butter or oil in this recipe, I don’t see any need to add those fatty ingredients into this meal. Besides, the flavor doesn’t increase so I suggest skipping them and saving the calories and fat for dessert.  Dessert? Yes, please!

Add roast beef to crock pot, sprinkle 1/3 packet of dry onion soup mix on roast.  Add chopped red potatoes. Sprinkle remaining onion soup packet on top of potatoes.

Sprinkle remaining onion soup packet on top of potatoes. Top potatoes with can of cream of mushroom soup.  I used fat-free for a healthier recipe.

I like to add baby carrots half way through as well for a more complete meal. You could add mushrooms, celery, and/or anything else you like. Baby carrots are my favorite because there is no preparation – just dump them in!
